Looking for a happy medium between coach’s sardine-can accommodations and first class’s hefty price on lengthy flights? Premium economy cabins, featuring cushier seats and more space to stretch your legs (and wallet), are emerging as a less extravagant, more comfortable option on a number of airlines (including jetBlue, Virgin Atlantic, and British Airways, to name a few). Still, said seats on many overseas flights can run upwards of five times the cost of a coach ticket, and transatlantic jaunts in particular see higher fares versus the standard economy class than do their Pacific counterparts. JetBlue added yet another colorful push-pin to its Caribbean route map earlier this week, when it kicked off service between New York City (JFK) and the island of St. Lucia. With a direct flight time of approximently 4 to 5 hours, this new route is bound to lure travelers on long-weekend retreats to pristine beaches, tropical rainforests, and one of the world’s few drive-in volcanoes. If you spend lots of time zipping around in the sky, it’s time to get your head out of the clouds when it comes to dishing out for a multitude of pricey flights. JetBlue’s to the rescue with their brand-new All-You-Can-Jet program, in which travelers can enjoy a month of unlimited travel to any of the airline’s 56 destinations, all for just $599. This bundled pass includes taxes and fees when flying between U.S. destinations, or, opt to head out to global hot spots in the Caribbean (including Puerto Rico), Mexico, Bermuda, and more – though you’ll have to supplement the difference in international taxes and fees for those. This special offer is valid on coach-class seats from September 8 through October 8, and must be purchased by August 21.

Twitter may be time consuming, but it may soon be well worth any savvy flyer’s while. United Airlines and Jet Blue are taking notice of the Internet update-obsessed and rewarding them with tempting deals, many of which are exclusive to the social networking and mini-blog site. While following United Airlines’ twares, or Jet Blue’s cheeps, tweeters receive hot prices (some one-way flights have been advertised for under $10 bucks) that often leave the screen faster than a plane has liftoff. In fact, in many cases, fares are only available for as little as an hour or two. Read the rest of this post »
JetBlue’s rapidly expanding Caribbean empire allows the airline to offer ultra-low prices to popular beach destinations. Just in time to welcome summer, the airline has launched its Life’s a Beach sale, making these already affordable flights reach rock-bottom rates. Fares start from just $29 each way to beach hot spots including Cancun, Nassau, Santo Domingo, San Juan, and more from cities like New York, Fort Lauderdale, Tampa, Boston, and many others. Although this new fare sale ends on June 26, travel is valid from July 14 through October 6. In addition to these stellar savings, when purchasing tickets passengers can take an extra $20 off each flight by using Jet Blue’s PayPal program.

Everything may be sunshine, beach-side barbeques, and picnics in the park right now, but once October rolls around that looming feeling will hit, and you’ll know the winter months are too close for comfort. When it does, you’ll have a tough decision to make - accept cold weather as inevitable, or run away from it. We suggest living in denial for another week or so, and by booking a flight ahead of time on one of JetBlue’s new routes to tropical locations, you’ll save some cold-hard cash in the process. Brushing shoulders with old money isn’t limited to Hamptons’ beaches: New Yorkers can walk alongside tony residents of another coveted summer rental location – Nantucket, Massachusetts – courtesy of JetBlue’s recently re-launched service there for a third year in a row. With a flight time of approximately one hour, it’ll take most New Yorkers even less time to reach this Cape Cod isle than to reach their fave Long Island getaway.
The Deal: JetBlue is rewarding members of its free TrueBlue program who are frequent flyers on some of its popular routes with travel certificates valid for a free future round-trip flight. In order to qualify, book three round-trip JetBlue flights on applicable routes within the Northeast region and get a complimentary fare on one of the same itineraries, including flights to/from Boston or NYC and Buffalo, DC, Burlington, Pittsburgh, and more. Or, book just two round-trip tickets between Boston and Western cities like Denver, Las Vegas, San Francisco, and more, and get a round-trip flight to anywhere that JetBlue flies (including to tempting and traditionally pricier international locales like Cancun or Aruba).
The Catch: You’ll have to get flying in order to rack up the required flights in time for the promotions’ fast-approaching end dates.
Travel By for the Northeast Region Promotion: Fly three flights through June 17 to earn the voucher; complimentary future travel certificate may be redeemed for travel July 1 through December 15.
Travel By for the Boston to West Coast Promotion: Fly two flights through May 31 to earn the voucher; complimentary future travel certificate may be redeemed for travel June 15 through December 15.
In December, JetBlue rolled out a new program called JetPaws that’s designed to improve the experience of flying with pets. It’s intended for dogs and cats small enough to ride in the main cabin, which means not more than 20 pounds (including the weight of the carrier). After paying JetBlue’s standard pet fee ($100 each way), travelers can sign up for the free program and receive a pet carrier tag, a guide to travel “petiquette,” and an e-booklet that lists pet-friendly hotels, restaurants, parks, and animal hospitals in JetBlue’s major cities.
