Built by philanthropist/conservationist Laurance Rockefeller in 1964, and now a Rosewood resort and one of the BVI’s most exclusive enclaves, this sprawling Virgin Gorda property appeals to both couples and families. A five-year renovation, completed in 2006, freshened the resort’s retro-elegant villas, hexagonal cottages and spacious rooms and suites, all of which line a perfect white crescent beach and feature outdoor rain showers and private patios. There’s a cool granite pool, plus the intimate and romantic Sugar Mill restaurant and a cliff-top Sense Spa.
