Mont-Tremblant: Francine Loub
Mont-Tremblant — Just 90 minutes north of Montreal, Canada’s largest ski area is considered by many to be the finest on the entire East Coast. With its village-like atmosphere and pre-war, European-feel buildings defining the base areas, and more than $400 million in improvements and expansions to the skiable and rideable terrain underway (translating to more runs, lifts, etc.), it’s often favorably compared to resorts in the Alps. Our Mont-Tremblant Travel Guide sifts through the town's dizzying options, which include 95 runs and 14 express lifts and gondolas, as well as an Olympic-caliber superpipe and an 18-acre, feature-filled terrain park, making it popular with snowboarders. On-site daycare and ample offerings for kids’ ski lessons ensure that it’s a good bet for families, too. Ski season runs from mid-November through mid-April.

Why Go

For its proximity to Montreal, charming old-world atmosphere, and abundant offerings for skiers and boarders alike.
