Colombia — With a growing fleet of low cost airlines and cruise ships arriving in Colombia daily, this once infamous country has become one of Latin America’s most burgeoning destinations. And rightly so. Cosmopolitan cities like Cartagena and Bogota, UNESCO-recognized colonial architecture, pre-Columbian ruins, fine museums and dining, and clear Caribbean waters are among the country’s many charms. And although drugs and civil strife remain an issue, there is rarely any evidence of it in the country’s urban centers – fighting these days is almost solely limited to remote corners of the jungle.

Why Go

For the colonial and pre-Columbian architecture, gorgeous beaches, and pulsating cities.
