The Oasis of the Seas debuts this year
Royal Caribbean has been the talk of the cruise industry with plans to unveil the largest cruise ship to date this December. With a total of 16 decks and a 5,400 passenger capacity, the Oasis of the Seas is practically a floating city. The massive new ship will include some unusual highlights like a park located in the ship's “town square,” an outdoor theater featuring acrobats and water shows, and a zip-line allowing passengers to zoom over the top of a boardwalk full of carnival games, restaurants, shops, and a carousel. Cabins on the 7-night inaugural cruise are in high demand, and will set you back a minimum of $1,739. However, by waiting a few short weeks until January, you can snag a spot onboard the new ship at drastically reduced rates, starting from just $929.
This discounted weeklong cruise departs from Fort Lauderdale January 10, and spends two full days at sea, giving passengers an early opportunity to experience first hand what the ship has to offer. Then, it makes its first stop in Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas where passengers can snorkel in Turtle Cove, visit Coral World Marine Park, and enjoy some duty-free shopping. After that, the Oasis of the Seas sails to St. Maarten, where it docks in Philipsburg, located on the Dutch-owned side of the tiny island that shares custody with the French. The final stop on this voyage before the ship returns to Fort Lauderdale, is on the white-sand beaches of Nassau, Bahamas. Prices start at $929 for interior cabins, and oceanview staterooms are available from $1,129.
All prices are per person and based on double occupancy. Accommodations, meals, some beverages, entertainment, and port charges are covered in the cost. Government fees and taxes, as well as off-boat expenditures are extra.
You may fall head-over-heels for this new ship.
