Sail on USA River Cruises this fall

The Deal

For those who have dismissed the idea of cruising to warmer climates because they don’t have a passport, USA River Cruises has the answer.  This small-ship cruise company is offering some amazing specials on its Florida River cruises, including up to $500 off select itineraries, and a $100 onboard spending credit, which can also be used on shore excursions.

Set sail aboard the American Spirit, the American Star, or the American Glory in a spacious room on a 6-night cruise through Florida’s hidden gems. The ships depart from Amelia Island, and will float down the St. John’s River to Palatka, where passengers can wander through the Ravine Gardens State Park, before sailing on to Sanford.  This once thriving trading post set on the Southern Banks of Lake Monroe is now a picturesque community with numerous historical sites and citrus groves. After that, the ship will call on Green Cove Springs, home to cool mineral springs, and plenty to see and do including visiting a local museum, fishing, and golfing.

From there the ship heads to the “Old City” of St. Augustine – named so because it’s recognized as America’s oldest surviving European settlement. This charming city is teeming with tourist attractions, like Potter’s Wax Museum, sightseeing trains, water sports, and more.  After the time spent in St. Augustine the ship returns to Amelia Island, an ideal place to pick up some antiques and collectibles, or simply enjoy the miles of pristine beaches.  There are several sailing dates to choose from throughout November and December, 2009, but must bookings must be made by May 15. Prices start at $2,280 per person based on double occupancy.
