Expert Review
This is definitely the most luxurious and celebrated place to stay in St-Tropez, with prices that can run above the $1,000 a night range. But it is home to Alain Ducasse's ritzy Spoon and the famed Cave Club, whose persnickety bouncers only let in St Tropez's finest to party amid le beau monde. Registered hotel guests are guaranteed admission, which is a sigh of relief when the line of supermodels and millionaires wraps around the block. The rooms at the hillside Byblos are extremely spacious, especially by European standards, and feature unique accents from antiques to fireplaces to four-poster beds. The entire complex is designed to resemble a miniature Provençal village, seeped in red and yellow hues, and dotted by courtyards, patios, and lush Mediterranean vegetation. Don't miss the brand new Sisley Spa (St-Tropez's first real spa) - it's surprisingly affordable, offering one of the most comprehensive and relaxing facials (including an intense foot, head, and shoulder massage) we've ever had. Note that the seasonal property is closed mid-October through Easter.

Many travelers purchase air-inclusive rates for European river cruises because river cruise lines frequently run two-for-one airfare specials.
