The only hotel in this quintessential Italian village sits atop a crumbling hill and is a no-frills affair set within a 15th-century building. The view of the town's intimate square, on the other hand, is first-rate. The B&B's gregarious owner, Franco, who also runs Antico Forno, the traditional restaurant on the first floor, makes guests feel right at home. The three comfortable, if slightly Spartan, rooms fill up fast, so be sure to book ahead. Insider tip: Arrive with comfortable shoes and little luggage because Civita is only reached via a long and narrow foot bridge.
