Kansai International airport (KIX) is Japan’s second largest airport. It can be easily reached from Kyoto by an 80-minute train ride.

There are three airlines that fly direct between the U.S. and Kansai International; US Airways, United Airways and ANA. All of them leave from San Francisco.
