This faux-Tuscan, 246-room palace, situated in beautiful Italian-style gardens, is one of Johannesburg's most popular hotels. Situated in the upmarket suburb of Fourways in the north of Johannesburg, it features open walkways connecting it to the buzzing Montecasino entertainment complex of shops, cinemas, theaters, casino and an outdoor piazza. At this plush property, you wouldn't know you're in Africa. In fact, you'd think you've stumbled into Italy or, even more so, Vegas. The Palazzo has a variety of rooms including standard, superior, executive, suites, and a one-bedroom penthouse. The deluxe rooms on the ground floor recently had a makeover and now boast chandeliers, dark-wood furniture, and a private terrace among terraced gardens. Facilities include an outdoor swimming area with a light menu, a fitness center, and Thai massage service. Medeo Restaurant serves contemporary African cuisine with a French twist on an outdoor deck and terrace with pond and fountain vistas.
