This inexpensive B&B in the very heart of Soweto is popular with visitors who want an authentic South African experience. The cozy Vhavenda Hills offers four well-sized rooms, including two en-suite twins, a large en-suite double, and one single room. The B&B is run by Catherine Luthaga, a long-time resident of Soweto, and her husband David who was born and raised on the property. While you can walk by yourself to nearby Soweto attractions, such as the Hector Pietersen Memorial Square and the Nelson Mandela Museum, you can also book a variety of trips through David who runs his own tour company, Vhupo Tours. Let Catherine and David tell you all about their neighborhood and you can even feast on some tasty township cuisine; evening meals can be arranged in the spacious dining room. There is Internet access and a comfortable TV lounge with a fireplace.
