Casa Camper, a mid-priced hotel owned by the namesake shoe company, is cool and quirky, with a modern design that appeals to fashion sensibilities, as does the El Raval neighborhood address. The first in what will become a chain of properties, the hotel is hip but unpretentious. Rooms are all simple-chic, with platform beds and open shelves. The bathrooms are white and sleek. Most rooms are suites, with bedrooms located on one side of the hallway facing the quiet rear of the hotel and sitting rooms with a hammock and balcony on the other side overlooking the street. It’s an unconventional – but very social – setup.
