Centrally located in Barri Gòtic at the end of the heavily-trafficked La Rambla, the 169-room hotel was a former 18th-century tobacco plant. It was converted into a hotel in 2005, but retains an old-fashioned charm that’s not always easy to find in a boutique-heavy city. The rooms are elegant and understated, with WiFi, LCD TVs, and facilities for the disabled. The suites have terraces, plunge pools, gardens, and amazing city views. There’s a Roman bath-style spa in the basement and a bar and terrace on the rooftop.
