Getting There
Alitalia (www.alitalia.com), American (www.aa.com), Delta (www.delta.com), US Airways (www.usairways.com), and Continental (www.continental.com) all make non-stop flights from the United States to Rome. Flight time from the East Coast to Rome is about eight hours (from the West Coast about 11.5 hours).
Rome has two airports, Ciampino and Fiumicino (AKA Leonardo Da Vinci), with all incoming flights from the US arriving at Fiumicino. From Fiumicino, 30-minute trains to Rome's main railway station ($10 each way), Termini, leave every half hour. From Ciampino, a Terravision (www.terravision.it) bus runs every 40 minutes, terminating at Termini Station.
