St. Martin

St. Martin — Just 38 square miles, Saint Martin/Sint Maarten is the world's smallest landmass shared by two governments, France and the Netherlands. But the island is user-friendly (for tourists): You don’t clear customs between the two sides, English is spoken throughout, and the dollar universally accepted in lieu of the official Euro and Netherlands Antilles Florin (aka Guilder). It offers all the conveniences (and convenience stores) of home with tropical lilt.

Why Go

For splendid beaches, some of the Caribbean’s finest dining, relative accessibility, and plentiful recreational options.
