Because tourists are still few and far between here you can get great bargains on things like silk cushion covers, scarves, t-shirts, and replica carvings. Still, it’s the Cambodian CDs and Western amenities like American deodorant and Nokia cell phones that make it so popular among locals.

Siem Reap’s top museum features a long shopping arcade of exclusive boutiques selling replicas of antiques and souvenirs related to the history of Angkor. It’s similar to the stores that you would find at the Met or any of the Smithsonian museums, only a lot cheaper.
