Visitors tend to stay put on the beaches fronting their hotels. After a few days, however, adventurous types will want to rent a car to explore the 35-square-mile island’s other resorts, restaurants, shops, and pristine white-sand beaches. Street names are non-existent, and road names, except on a few new main routes, are rarely used. If you ask for directions, locals will always instruct you to turn east or head west, never left or right.

All of Anguilla’s 33 white-sand beaches, some of the best in the Caribbean, have public access. None can really be called crowded. Scuba and snorkeling

Golf
The only golf course on the island, opened November 2006, is the Greg Norman-designed Temenos Golf Club championship course, which features a Mediterranean-inspired 28,000-square-foot clubhouse.

Tennis

Summer Festival
