Argentina: When To Go

Argentina’s seasons are opposite those of the northern hemisphere making it possible to ski in July or enjoy sultry nights in middle of January.

Peak Season: December to February Northern Hemisphere travelers head south to escape winter, and locals go on vacation during these hot summer months, swarming beaches and resorts. (Temperatures range from the 90s in northern Argentina to the 50s and 60s further south.)

Off Season: June to August Winter months bring cooler temperatures up north (average 50°F) and plenty of powder for the ski crowd. While travel slows down in general this time of year, plan on peak prices and occupancy in mountain resorts.

Sweet Spot: September to November; March to May Spring and fall are lovely times to visit larger cities. In seasonal tourism areas, expect fewer crowds due to diminished opportunities for activities like skiing. Prices soar around holidays like Easter (Semana Santa) when many Argentines travel.
