Aspen: When To Go

Peak Season: December to March Naturally, rates are the highest and hotels are packed in winter when Aspen’s shows off its snowy best. Winter temperatures average in the 20s.

Off Season: May to September Things quiet down considerably when the ski resorts close for the summer. This is a good time to take advantage of pleasant (60-degree) weather and off-season discounts to enjoy outdoor activities like hiking and horseback riding.

Sweet Spot: April; November Spring skiing is still possible in late March through early April and the slopes are just beginning to open in November. Both times see fewer crowds and weather in the 30-degree range.
