Off Season: May to September
Things quiet down considerably when the ski resorts close for the summer. This is a good time to take advantage of pleasant (60-degree) weather and off-season discounts to enjoy outdoor activities like hiking and horseback riding.
Sweet Spot: April; November
Spring skiing is still possible in late March through early April and the slopes are just beginning to open in November. Both times see fewer crowds and weather in the 30-degree range.
