Austin: When To Go

Peak Season: March to May; September to November Festivals like South by Southwest, the Austin Film Festival and UT Longhorn football games pretty much take over the city in high season. March and September are the worst for crowds. Expect temperatures in the 80s.

Off Season: June to August Texan summers can get mighty steamy with 90s and 100s considered normal and the humidity high and sticky, but for those willing to brave the heat, good travel deals and cool Barton Springs make it worth coming anyway.

Sweet Spot: December to February You’ll find more package deals and fewer crowds during winter months (the weather hovers around 65°F). The best deals can be found in December and during holidays (Thanksgiving included even though November isn’t listed here).
