Bahamas: When To Go

Peak Season: December to April While the rest of the world battles winter The Bahamas’ high season is in full swing. Besides warm temperatures (weather averages in high 70s year-round), the post-Christmas Junkanoo Festival is a strong draw.

Off Season: May; July to November Lower rates often make up for reduced services, but some islands, like Eleuthera and Exuma, virtually close down during August and September. Though storms usually spare The Bahamas, hurricane season runs from June 1-November 30.

Sweet Spot: June Right at the beginning of hurricane season in June is the best time to take advantage of reduced rates before the chance of storms increases and businesses close. Fewer visitors means that attractions will be less crowded as well.
