Peak Season: July to August This is the peak tourist season but a hot and humid period when Catalans escape for cooler climes and many shops and restaurants bolt their doors, especially for the month of August.

Off Season: January to March Despite colder weather, you can still experience some alfresco fun due to Barcelona’s mild Mediterranean climate – plus the crowds are thinner and prices lower.

Sweet Spot: September to December; April to June A visit in late spring or fall gets you the best run for your money by ensuring plenty of outdoor fun without the soaring temperatures or the tourist hordes. Keep in mind that October is quite rainy.
