Opened just in time for the 2008 Olympic Games, Hilton Beijing Wangfujing is a contemporary 255-room hotel located near the downtown Wangfujing Dajie shopping street, 10 minutes from Tiananmen Square. Targeting a 50/50 mix of business and leisure travelers, it's positioning itself in between the boutique and five-star corporate hotel segments. Dressed in pine, crème, and light grey tones, the guest rooms start at a spacious 50 square meters. The design is open plan with a glass-partitioned bathroom and walk-in dress closet. Each features a Victorian-style bathtub, double-head massage shower, iPod docks, and wall-mounted TV. Your daily newspaper is deposited in a personalized, chest-high mailbox. The hotel's two signature restaurants are Chynna, serving modern pan-Chinese cuisine, and Vasco’s, named after Portuguese explorer Vasco de Gama and specializing in Macanese fare (the hotel’s owner is from Macau).
