Mitte’s stylish boutique property feels more like an apartment building than a hotel. The 72 rooms are similar in style and all have in-room kitchenettes with stovetops, toasters, and coffeemakers. Other amenities include high-speed internet, satellite TV and DVD players, and laundry facilities. Living spaces flow into bathrooms to create a great space-maximizing effect. The walls, floors, and furniture are primarily shades of white; wood is the other main material. The ground floor houses the Ulf Haines designer boutique; an Aveda hair, face, and body spa; Shiro I Shito, an Asian-fusion restaurant; and a small lobby/reception area. Rates are so reasonable because the hotel doesn’t have daily housekeeping or 24-hour service. But what it lacks in those amenities it more than makes up for in style.
