Stretching atop Bermuda's loftiest hilltop and sloping to its own cliff-flanked beach, this leviathan pink eyesore is the island's most complete resort, attracting families, conventioneers, and honeymooners with equal aplomb. Though built in 1972, it is reminiscent of a more formal era, from the gleaming mahogany-and-marble-filled public spaces to the region's only five-diamond AAA restaurant, The Newport Room. Facilities include dive shop, golf course, tennis courts, the island’s largest spa and health club, complimentary kids club, and astounding pools (one indoor with multiple waterfalls and hot tubs, another with waterslides). Nearly all the 593 commodious, comfy units boast splendid views. Configuration and décor are nearly identical, save for the fantastic corner rooms, which boast dual exposures and extended balconies. We also prefer the Harbor Deluxe rooms – with their continual Impressionist wash of pastel houses, manicured lawns, and riotously colored fishing boats – to their pricier Ocean Deluxe counterparts.
