Despite its genteel rep, Bermuda has begun courting a more urban, youthful crowd. While it's not quite Spring Break redux, several happening pubs and clubs now complement the traditional cocktail venues where slinky chanteuses or pianists hold sway for the Fox Trot set.
Mediterraneo This club gets going at 10.30pm on weekends with tapas at the wine bar, local and international jazz singers, and dancing. Mondays mean Martini Madness, with mixologists sending little samplers to lucky diners. 39 Church St.; 011-441-296-9047
Splash Well-heeled loafers rub shoulders with locals at this sizzling wine bar/lounge/nightclub--the closest thing Bermuda has to a singles scene. Bermudiana Rd.; 011-441-296-3849
Veranda A clubby, library cum rum-and-cigar bar; a pianist plays nightly with jazz vocalists frequently chiming in. Come for free salsa instruction on Wednesdays and $2 tapas from 5pm to 9pm on Fridays. Mandarin Oriental, 60 South Shore Rd.; 011-441-236-3535
