Bodrum Tips

Pack Sunblock
Bodrum sizzles in the height of summer – something that sunblock vendors know very well. Pack your own sunscreen or you’ll pay through the nose for it.
Phrase Ready
Although most of the locals speak at least half a dozen languages including English, you will still bring a smile to people’s lips if you make an effort at speaking basic Turkish like “please, ” “thank you, ” and “hello.”
Plug your Ears
Invest in ear plugs! The downside of the jumping nightlife is that it can be very hard to sleep in the summer, especially if you want to leave bedroom windows open.
Rent a Car
If you plan to visit the Bodrum Peninsula you’ll want a car. Public transport reaches most resorts but almost all of it is routed via Bodrum Town (there is no bus, for example, between Gumusluk and Yaikavak).
Less is More
Clothing-wise, less is more in Bodrum. Individuals who dress conservatively are likely to feel out of place among the crowds of people sporting skimpy beach gear.
