Peak Season: July to mid-October Great weather, but hotels are pricey, restaurants are crowded, and lines are long. July and August are the busiest and most expensive months, with Red Sox fever at full pitch.

Off Season: November to March Count on the cold, but also rock-bottom rates on hotel rooms and easy-to-score restaurant reservations.

Sweet Spot: April to June The best bang for your buck means chilly but bearable temperatures coupled with low room rates and thin crowds. Baseball season kicks off at the same time as Marathon Monday (the day of the Boston Marathon) in April.
