A $34 million renovation in 2003 revamped the 383 classically-designed guest rooms (including 17 suites), which feature high ceilings, fine fabrics in ruby and gold color schemes, pillow-top mattresses, and custom-designed furniture – some guestrooms even have chandeliers and walk-in closets. A major addition in the renovations was the introduction of Fairmont Gold, an exclusive "hotel within a hotel" on the fourth floor, which has its own check-in and private lounge that's set up to resemble a turn of the century townhouse.

Just got back from Boston for a work trip. When we checked in they tried putting us on the first floor which was in the basment over looking a brick wall. Aftercomplaining and having to pay an extra $80 a night they moved us up to the 3rd floor over... more
A bit pricey but an excellent stay for those looking for a hotel located close to Boston's best shopping and plenty other choices of entertainment and activity. The rooms are clean, a little bit small, but stylish. Highly recommended.Recommended:Yes
Stay on floor four if you can, well worth the extra money. Breakfast was supplied and evening kibbles also supplied. Room was great with the best coffee we have had in all the hotels we have stayed in. I can't say enough about the professional staff... more
