This boutique, neo-classical Kimpton hotel debuted in 2003, livening up the somewhat humdrum Cambridge hotel scene with an innovative alternative to the historic-themed lodging options in the area. The funky lobby encourages guests to linger, be it during the nightly complimentary wine receptions or… more over the complimentary coffee and tea served each morning. While it attracts a hip crowd, the Hotel Marlowe remains unpretentious and has very family- and pet-friendly policies. The only drawback is that unless you're in the area to visit MIT or are a huge fan of the Museum of Science around the corner, there's not much nearby. The rooms manage to maintain elegance while exhibiting a playful and fun flair. There are lots of high-tech goodies, such as a Sony PlayStation, complimentary wireless, and high-speed Internet access. A large desk provides an ample work area, while an oversized red-velvet armchair offers a place to enjoy the views - if you're in a "cityside" room, you'll have spectacular vistas of the Boston skyline. The beds have triple sheeting with Italian Frette linens, and are topped off with plush down comforters.
The decor in the room was awesome--huge & wonderful California King bed with tons of pillows. This was the most comfortable bed I
