Located on trendy Newbury Street, the Newbury Guest House puts guests right smack in the middle of the action with outdoor cafes, restaurants, and eclectic boutiques just steps away. Occupying three adjacent, historic, red-brick and brownstone Victorian row houses, the converted B&B retains much… more of its original detail in the form of decorative fireplaces, ceiling moldings, and parquet and hardwood floors. A full breakfast buffet is included in the rate, served in the breakfast parlor, or on warmer days, on the lovely patio. Although each of the 32 rooms has its own personality, they all include tasteful Federal-style furnishings. The largest rooms have expansive bay window alcoves with seating areas, while midsize rooms offer bright, airy quarters with oversized windows. Sleigh or four-poster beds are in both, as are loveseats, desk areas, and full baths. All rooms emanate a historic feel, without skimping on modern amenities, like cable TV, phones with voicemail, and free WiFi Internet service. For those who enjoy people-watching, grab a room facing Newbury Street, with its steady flow of hip passersby; those that prefer peace-and-quiet should opt for the quieter rear rooms.

I've never stayed here, but it sure does seem to have a lot going for it. Location, mainly, and relatively reasonable prices to boot.
