The easiest and best way to explore Bucks County is by car. Many of the chain car rental groups operate out of Bucks County, including Hertz in Doylestown (215-489-2603) and Enterprise in Langhorne (215-750-1200) and Levittown (215-547-3332).

If you’re planning on visiting Sesame Place, bring a swimsuit to splash around in the park’s 12 water rides. The plethora of water attractions are especially attractive on steamy summer days.

Don’t confuse the Quakers with the Amish. If it’s horse-drawn buggies and hand-tilled fields you’re looking for, you’ll have to drive two hours west of Bucks County to Amish County in the Lancaster region of Central Pennsylvania. Bucks County is home to a thriving and historic Quaker community that dates back to William Penn’s original settlement in the 1680s.

Southeast Pennsylvania is proud of its resident feature film director M. Night Shyamalan, who calls the Philadelphia suburbs home. The blockbuster science fiction film Signs was filmed in the fields and countryside of Bucks County.

Center City Philadelphia, home to Independence Hall, the Philadelphia Art Museum, and the Liberty Bell, is easily accessible via Septa’s Regional Rail. Take the R5 from Doylestown, the R3 from Yardley, or the R7 from Levittown to Philadelphia’s downtown Suburban Station or 30th Street  The train trip from Bucks County is about 45 minutes.
