Bucks County When To Go

Peak Season: June to early-September
When school is out, families head to Sesame Place and the quaint towns of Bucks County for a break from the routine. During weekends, crowds line the streets of New Hope and Doylestown, resulting in higher rates at notable bed-and-breakfasts. Temperatures hover in the mid to low 80s.
Off Season: December to February
In the winter, there are few attractions open for business in Bucks County, besides the December 25th reenactment of General George Washington’s crossing of the icy Delaware River at Washington’s Crossing Park. Rates are low for an easy weekend getaway.
Sweet Spot (shoulder season): late-September to November; March to May
Bucks County remains a popular weekend destination throughout the spring and fall. Weekend warriors and day-trippers alike patronize the antique shops, art galleries, restaurants, and B&Bs. Weekend rates tend to be moderate until mid-May, when Sesame Place re-opens and the crowds start to re-appear.
