Cairo International Airport (CAI), in the suburb of Heliopolis, is a half-hour outside of the main city and is the only way to fly in and out of Cairo.
Airlines
EgyptAir, which flies from New York’s JFK, is the only way to reach Cairo non-stop from the United States. Other airlines such as AirFrance, British Airways, and Alitalia fly into Cairo from Europe
Flight Times
New York City to Cairo takes 12 hours (expect about 20 hours from Los Angeles). Visitors taking a connecting flight generally fly into Europe first. Cairo is 4-5 hours from European cities like London, Paris, and Vienna.
