Cape May When To Go

Peak Season: June to August; December
If you want a room on the ocean, reserve three months in advance and be prepared to constantly look for parking, but beach season and the December holidays (with extravagantly decorated blocks and a popular Christmas parade) see Cape May at its most welcoming. Expect temperatures in the 70s and 80s during July and August.
Low Season: January to March
Most people avoid Cape May during the coldest months of winter, but for some, it’s their favorite time, as you can walk windswept beaches in solitude and snuggle at night by a hotel fireplace.
Sweet Spot: April to May; September to November
Cape May is below the Mason-Dixon line, so expect a few warm-weather days (swimming in October is not unheard-of) with no crowds during spring and fall. Bear in mind that September and October are hurricane-prone months.
