Major hubs are, not surprisingly, on the East Coast, with the bulk of Caribbean departures leaving out of New York or Miami. Fort Lauderdale is another substantial center – Houston, Chicago, Detroit and Minneapolis offer some flights.
Airlines
Many Caribbean islands have nonstop or direct service from the US, with American Airlines operating the lion's share of routes. In recent years US Airways, Delta, Continental, and budget airlines like JetBlue and Spirit Air have added routes as well.
Flight Times
Flight times vary by island. Destinations like Turks and Caicos and the Cayman Islands are under 3 hours from the East Coast, while Trinidad and Tobago are 5 hours away. Tack on 2 to 3 hours for every transfer.
