Chiang Mai Getting There

Airports
Chiang Mai (CNX) receives charter flights from Asia, but arrivals from across the Pacific always fly into Bangkok’s new Suvarnabhumi Airport (BKK), and then transfer to the Don Mueang Airport (DMK), also in Bangkok, before heading to CNX
Airlines
Most major carriers including Thai Airways, ANA, Northwest, United and EVA Air get you to Bangkok with one or two connections (only Thai flies direct from JFK). Transfer to Chiang Mai via Air Asia, Nok Air, One-Two-Go or Bangkok Airways.
Flight Times
Flights from the West Coast take about 20 hours, depending on the connection time. Flying from the East Coast adds another 5 hours; from the south another 3. The non-stop flight from JFK takes only 17 hours.
