The stylish Hotel Indigo Chicago debuted in May 2005, bringing an innovative and inspirational lodging experience to Chicago’s chi-chi Gold Coast neighborhood. Everything about the 12-story boutique hotel, with its fresh design and vibrantly decorated trimmings, screams young, modern, and fun.… more A rainbow of vivid colors greets guests upon entrance to the bright and airy lobby. The adjacent lobby bar, Phi, doubles as a tapas restaurant and an ideal spot to linger over a glass of wine before a night on the town. There’s a bistro-style restaurant in the rear, The Golden Bean, which serves up salads, panini, and some entrees, as well as Starbucks coffee and espresso. The guestrooms, while somewhat on the small side, are cozy with soothing blue and green-toned fabrics and finishes, hardwood floors, and tasteful whitewashed wood furniture. Touches like mod lime-green coffeemakers, complimentary WiFi Internet access, and wonderfully plush, elevated beds topped with breakfast trays touting vases of fresh-cut flowers, make the overall ambiance fresh and fun. Don’t get too attached to the color scheme here, though – the hotel’s 165 guestrooms will be changing the duvets, murals, area rugs, and more, periodically – in an attempt to give guests an opportunity for continuous discovery as they return over the seasons.
