A brilliant cliff-side location above the spectacular Miramare Bay makes this recently spruced-up hotel one of the most desirable lodging places in the mid-range category. Not only is it located a mere ten-minute walk away from the old town, but the atmospheric stone building also features wonderful… more views of the Adriatic and the island of Lokrum. Two restaurants – a fine à la carte beach spot accessible by stairs from the top of the cliff, and an on-premise eatery with a sunny terrace – are pretty much the only facilities. The hotel boasts 49 snug rooms done up in simple yet attractive decor. All the rooms have en-suite bathrooms equipped with a shower, as well as elementary in-room amenities (TVs and phones). But there’s a bonus – each room comes with a sea-facing balcony. Note that only some of the rooms have air-conditioning, which is a huge factor to consider in summer months; if you want to keep cool, it will cost you a hefty surcharge of €48 per night (but it’s worth it).
