The winter months are the ideal time to visit Egypt climate wise, but be warned that hotel rates soar and the crowds, especially at the country’s most popular monuments, can be unbearable.
Off Season: May to September
This is the hottest time in Egypt, but it is also the least crowded time of year. Be sure to book your hotel in advance as many Middle Easterners still flock to Egypt in the summer months since it is cooler than their native lands.
Sweet Spot: March to April; late-September to late-October
Hotels offer more reasonable rates and temperatures can be bearable during these transitional months. If you go in March or April, however, be aware that the khamseen sandstorms can envelop the city.
