Summer is incredibly hot and dry in Fez, and when the wind blows from the east it can feel like a hairdryer pointed at your face (temperatures often top 100 degrees). Expect high rates and cutthroat bargaining in the souks.
Off Season: October to February
Daytime temperatures in the 50s frighten off sun-seeking European tourists. Although bargains on rooms abound during the winter, count on a fair amount of rain dampening overall vacationing spirits.
Sweet Spot: March to May
Springtime is the most pleasant period to visit Fez, with warm days (temperatures in the upper 70s), temperate nights, and a countryside awash in wildflowers.
