Helsinki is an ideal destination for a long weekend, with its powerhouse package of interesting museums, unique shopping, and vibrant nightlife. For a quick half-day jaunt beyond the city proper, check out either Suomenlinna or Porvoo.

Start your Finnish week with a three day exploration of Helsinki’s sights before moving on to historic Turku for one more day. Then it’s onward (and upward) to Lapland for a 2-day experience of its unique culture and outdoor activities, before heading back for a final 24 hour hurrah – the perfect Finnish finish – in Helsinki.

Days 1-4: Dive into Finland with four full days in Helsinki. Days 5-7: Venture northward into the country’s gorgeous and untouristy Lake District, making your way ever further north. Days 8-9: Explore Lapland, with its wealth of winter activities like skiing, snowmobiling, and fishing. Day 10: Travel down Finland’s picturesque western coast, stopping in Rauma for a few hours along the way. Day 11: Dedicate a day to Turku. Day 12: Explore the seaside communities of the coastal South. Days 13-14: Shop till you drop back in Helsinki.
