Galveston: When To Go

Peak Season: March to September It doesn’t much matter that this is Texas and it’s the hottest time of the year (temperatures average in the mid-80s) – there’s a beach! Crowds flock to the town as soon as kids get out of school for the summer.

Off Season: October to February With the exception of Mardi Gras in late-January and early-February, the winter (with average temperatures in the 60s) is the slowest period in Galveston. The best deals on Caribbean cruises can be had in early January and in October and November.

Sweet Spot: None In a state of extremes, it’s no surprise that Galveston lacks a true shoulder season – it is either incredibly busy or incredibly calm.
