December is a high season in skiing areas.

Off Season: November; February to March Prices are generally low, but not all sites are open, rain is part of the package, and some hotels choose November to close for renovations. Mardi Gras attracts crowds along much of the Rhine.

Sweet Spot: April; October Indian summers are the ideal time to enjoy Germany's gorgeous scenery in the Alps or in the forests of Brandenburg. And April often brings the first genuinely warm days.
