Spend at least 1 day in Cairns taking in the local sights, then board a catamaran and set off on a tour to the outer reef and Green Island. Spend the next 1-2 days exploring the rainforests of the Cairns Hinterland. Then head north to the glamorous seaside village of Port Douglas for 1 day, en route to the tropical rainforest of the Daintree-Cape Tribulation coast for 2-3 days.

With two weeks at your disposal, you can take in the best of the Tropical North – Cairns (2 days), Port Douglas (1 day), and the Daintree-Cape Tribulation (2-3 days)– and also head south to check out Airlie Beach for 1-2 days before island-hopping around the Whitsundays for up to 5 days.
