Hanoi Getting There

Noi Bai International Airport (HAN) is the only gateway to Hanoi. It’s 28 miles north of downtown, approximately half an hour away by car.

For the long-haul to one of the convenient hubs connecting with Hanoi, the choices are almost limitless; Cathay Pacific Airlines (from the West Coast, code-sharing with American), Singapore Airlines, Thai Airways (United, Lufthansa),  Eva Air (Continental), Korean Air (Delta), and China Airlines. Vietnam Airlines codeshares with American from L.A. and San Francisco, changing in Taipei.

Flight times, of course, vary according to hub and number of plane changes. That said, from both the West and East Coasts of the U.S., a one-connection journey typically takes between 20 and 22 hours.
