Iceland: Getting There

Airport Reykjavik boasts two airports: Keflavik International Airport (KEF), about 25 miles from downtown, sees all of the international traffic, while Reykjavik Airport (REK) handles most domestic flights.

Airlines Icelandair has the monopoly on all flights entering the country from the United States. Free stopovers up to a week long are offered on flights from select U.S. cities to select European hubs. Other smaller carriers like Air Iceland and Iceland Express have routes from Reykjavik to other cities in Iceland, Greenland, the Faroe Islands, and major European cities.
