December-February is the most popular and the hottest time of year (temperatures reach the 90s with high humidity). Semana Santa and July (Argentina’s school vacation) draw local crowds. Book ahead; expect higher rates.
Off Season: June; August
Expect moderate temperatures in the 60s and 70s, but be aware that humidity prevails year-round. Winter is dry season, so water levels may be slightly lower than usual. You may be able to negotiate reduced hotel rates.
Sweet Spot: September to November; March to May
With the exception of Holy Week, crowds are a bit thinner during these months and temperatures are in the 70s and 80s.
