India Getting There

Airports
Indira Gandhi International (DEL) in New Delhi and Chhatrapati Shivaji International (BOM), also known as Sahar, in Mumbai, are the country’s busiest airports with several daily international flights and hourly flights to other Indian cities. Bangalore (BLR), Hyderabad (HYD) and Calcutta (CCU) also have international airports that provide access to the south and east sections of the subcontinent.
Airlines
Several carriers, including American, Delta, Continental Air India and Singapore Airlines, fly into India. Domestic Indian carrier Jet Airways recently launched direct service from New York and San Francisco to Bombay.
Flight Times
Flights to Mumbai and New Delhi from the Northeast are roughly 18 hours, with a one to two-hour stop over in a European city like London, Paris or Frankfurt, depending on the airline.
