India: Itineraries

Long Weekend Though a long weekend isn’t nearly long enough, a classic introduction to India starts with a trip through the Golden Triangle of Delhi, Agra and Jaipur. Tour historic sights like the India Gate and Parliament building, pick up kitschy finds along Janpath, and travel to see the Taj Mahal in moonlight.

One Week Travel the Golden Triangle route and land up in Mumbai, lapping up Bollywood glitz and glamour. Wander around the sophisticated Colaba district. Jet-set to party capital Goa and relax along Kovalam beach.

Two Weeks Cover New Delhi, Agra and Jaipur, adding in the romantic city of Udaipur. Live like a king at the whitewashed Taj Lake Palace. Travel way down south to plush Kerala. Rest and relax in a rented houseboat. Pamper yourself with Ayurvedic spa treatments. Head back westward via Mumbai, where you’ll eat up street foods like pav bhaji, a spicy potato stew served with pan-fried bread, and bhel puri, tiny flour canapés topped with chutneys and onions.
